The Museum of Prehistory (musée de la Préhistoire) in Le Grand-Pressigny is a real Mecca for the period it covers. Its setting is a historical monument - one of the most southern of the Loire châteaux – where a combination of Middle Age, Renaissance and contemporary architecture houses a rich archaeological collection, from the Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age. The jewel in the museum’s crown are its livres de beurrecores and exceptional long flint blades exported in the third millennium.
Its collections, events and exhibitions make the Museum an exceptional place to visit in Touraine.
